Full stack Roblox programmer

I have 5 years of experiences writing code and building games on a bulletproof foundation, networking(Blink), saves(ProfileStore), Replication(Replica), anti-cheat, admin commands and everything that prevents your codebase from becoming a mess, I've worked on games with up to 20k specific

What I do.

01

Gameplay systems

Combat, abilities, progression, inventories. I design so non technical workers can plugin values into simple config files to change their game

Custom FrameworkState machinesConfig-driven
02

Networking & scale

Replication, client prediction, remote call budgets, profiling. This is the part that makes a game feel satisfying to players the get frustrated easily

Blink NetworkingPredictionMicroprofiler
03

Data & economy

Session-locked saves, data migrations, and replication of data to clients only as needed

ProfileStoreMigrations
04

Anti-exploit

I assume every client is lying. Validation, sanity checks and logging, so exploiters get caught before players start posting about it.

05

Live ops & tooling

Studio plugins, admin panels, remote config and analytics, so shipping an update on a Friday isn't scary.

06

Codebase health

Rojo and Git, typed Luau, clear module boundaries, code review. The next person who opens the project should be able to follow it.

How I work

How a project usually goes.

STEP 01

Work out what I am designing

We work out the core loop, the systems it needs and what finished actually means. Written down, before I open Studio.

STEP 02

Prototype fast

I build the riskiest part first, ugly but playable. You try it within days and we cut whatever isn't fun.

STEP 03

Polish

Then the boring important part: server authority, exploit checks, data safety and profiling, so a spike in players is good news instead of an outage.

STEP 04

Ship

Launch, watch the numbers, patch weekly. Everything I build comes with a way to tune it after release.

About

I'm Hunter.

I've been programming for around 5 years. I started with curiousity on to see if I could make my own minecraft clone from scratch in C++. This led to me learning C++ and beginning to build game engines from scratch to help understand how everything worked.

Eventually I learned about Roblox and have been on the roblox platform since then making games at a fast pace. I work fulltime on my development while doing college part time for Computer Science.

I typically only take 1-2 projects at a time that way I am not ghosting anybody. If I dont currently have time for you project I will let you know and we can figure out a time that works better!
